Sick Baby Essentials

Infant Sick Essentials

1. Pureguardian Ultrasonic Humidifier: This puppy is amazing it helps relieve nasal congestion, coughs and other dry-air symptoms. It uses ultrasonic technology to create mist with almost no noise. Silver Clean technology prevents the growth of mildew or mold in the water tank. This portable humidifier can generate both cool and warm mist. On a single refill of the 1-gallon tank, this Pure Guardian humidifier can work up to 55 hours. It has an indicator to let you know when the tank needs a refill.

2. Boogie Wipes: These things are magical! They keep your little ones nose and face from becoming raw by providing moisture and saline to loosen everything up while trying to get rid of those boogies.

3. Saftey 1st Thermometer: This thermometer has 4 mode: under arm, oral and rectal and it also will read the bath temperature for your baby. When giving any pediatrician a temperature they require a rectal reading so its great that this thermometer  reads the temperature in 5-8 seconds- which is great when you have an unhappy wiggly camper. It recalls your last 10 readings which is very convenient!

4. Gerber Burp Cloths: These are so handy and inexpensive and in my opinion are a must especially when you have a sick baby that is constantly coughing up mucus and spitting up meds.

5. Pajamas: Carters sleep n play jammies are awesome they are comfy, warm and zip for convenience.  Having a good inventory of pajamas is so important sick babies are messy!

6. Numi Med Dispenser: Orthodontic, hospital grade silicone nipple that is double pierced for easy flow. The medicine reservoir is clear so you can see how much baby has taken and is marked to show teaspoon and cc measurements and is dishwasher safe.

7. Nose Frida: A family I nannied for introduced me to this and when I orginally saw it I thought to myself that I could never get past sucking snot from a babies nose. The concept is pretty gross but it is different when its your own baby. The nose frida is pediatrician recommended and puts the little blue bulb to shame. Not only does it get the mucus out of the nostrils, it pulls everything from the nasal cavity. I give it 5 stars and suggest every mom to go buy one yesterday!

8. Saline: Saline is a must when you have a congested little one and is great to use with the nose frida. When your baby can't breathe from their nose it's inevitable that they will struggle with sucking aka eating.

9. Infant Tylenol: Tylenol is the only medicine a baby can use prior to 6 months

10. Snuggle Nest Surround by Baby Delight: It's important to keep a very close eye on your baby and sleep is hard to come by when they are sick. This awesome little snuggle pod is safe to put in the bed with you so you and your baby can be close and get rest. The sounds and light unit plays lullabies and womb sounds and features a night-light, volume control and an automatic shutoff. It folds for light weight portability. It has a waterproof foam mattress with a wraparound sheet that is comfortable. Can also serve as a portable bed/napper
