Good Mornin' Folks! Feels good to pop in and say hi. Things have been absolutely c.r.a.z.y. It's been a season of celebrations and I can't wait to share all of them with you! In August we celebrated Addelyn's First Birthday as well as the new addition to our family, of course more details to come! September was spent recovering from said party and getting through each minute of the first trimester and planning this shower I'm about to share with you!
Just a little background for you: The Martin's have been near and dear to our hearts for a good while and we are so blessed to have them in our lives. Chris works with Jimmy and his wife and I lean on one another in the day to day stresses of the car industry. This is baby number 3 for them but their first two have quite an age gap from their new addition that will arrive just around the corner! So I felt it important to put something together for Baby Dekker!
I've learned to become more and more cost efficient in each party planned by making and crafting everything from scratch and investing in projects that will work for future parties.
I cannot take credit however for the awesome chalk designs as those are drawn by a good friend Rachel. I cannot draw to save my life.
In the entry we had a guessing game where you had to guess how many life savers were in the jar. We also had a diaper raffle going on and a prayer card for Baby Dekker.
We did a buffet styled table featuring "finger foods" and delicious cupcakes of course!
This diaper cake was by far my favorite to make!
I wish I had done a better job at snapping more pictures of the guests- always a struggle of mine.
We played two games which at first I'm not gonna lie wasn't quite sure how they'd turn out and after I would seriously suggest these at EVERY baby shower. It was absolutely hilarious and I definitely recommend guys vs. girls.
"The Clothes Line Game"
All contestants divide into two teams and each team forms a line. Each member runs to the clothes line bucket for clothes pins then runs to the laundry basket on the other side of the clothes line and pins an outfit up on the clothes line all while holding a phone up to their ear and a baby in their arms. The team with the most clothes on the clothes line wins! Absolutely hilarious!!!!
These photos aren't the greatest but I love the intensity!
"The Tinkle in The Pot Game"
This game was too hilarious and went by way too fast for me to get any good photos/videos but the objective of the game is again two teams, relay style line up and each member has to run with a balloon in their belly and a ping pong ball between their legs to the bucket and drop the ping pong ball in the bucket. This is in honor of pregnant women peeing :p. Again watching the guys was HILARIOUS
