Memorial Day

As I've gotten older and have had friends deployed each year Memorial Day seems to hit me a little harder each year. But never more than now, my brother in law was deployed twice and we could have gotten a call at any given moment that he would not be returning home. Since then days like Memorial Day have hit a little closer to home for me. Lets all make sure we honor these fallen Heroes, who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, not just on Memorial Day but everyday.  It's easy to get caught up in the BBQS, crawfish boils, and time off with our families but remember that we wouldn't be able to do so without those who have surrendered their lives. Even though we have Veterans Day to honor the men and women who's lives are forever changed mentally, emotionally and physically I think its important that we lift them up at any given opportunity and the families who have lost a loved one. Thank you to those who have died for our freedom.

First Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was amazing, I feel so blessed to be loved and appreciated by my husband and family. What better gift than to have Mother's Day pictures taken?! I will treasure these pictures forever!

We started the day with our Mother's Day photo shoot which was in Circle C- very close to where I grew up. So after the pictures we drove around and visited the house where I hold my most treasured childhood memories. I reminisced with my husband about all of the amazing things my mother did for me as a child. I miss that sweet house. But even more I miss my mother. Christmas and Mother's Day have always been the hardest for me, however I would say this was by far the most amazing Mother's Day since her passing. Which I intend to share eventually. After our drive down memory lane we ventured home and Jimmy grilled steaks for lunch- my favorite. We ended the day with family. Let me just say God knew: I needed amazing in-laws. He knew: I needed a tight knit family. He knew: I needed an amazing mother in-law. She has been a true mother to me and has always treated as her own daughter. It brings me to tears every time I think about having her in my life. The loss of my mother is not as painful and I'm blessed to have someone that I can share milestones with, turn to when I have a bad day, seek wisdom from in times of tribulation, call upon when I'm sick or need advice on motherhood. I am forever grateful for our relationship.

I am so thankful to be a MOM, something I've dreamed about my whole life and to be a mommy to Little A has been the best thing to ever happen to me. Motherhood is the BEST job there is.

Jimmy also gifted me with a diaper-less day and this book which I've been dying to get my hands on!
Beautiful flowers and cards from my in-laws.
A big thank you to my family and my hubby for spoiling me on Mother's Day! I love you guys to the moon and back. I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day celebrating yourself or the mothers in your life.

Love the photos? Book Laura Morsman today! You won't regret it, she is absolutely amazing, patient as can be and very reasonable! Did I mention talented? See for yourself!
