Five on Friday!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

What's going on?
one.
This little one is a growing girl! I'm so excited because Little A is finally fitting into her baby gap clothes that Nana bought her. Just in time for the cold weather! These precious little outfits are so near and dear to my heart as they were the first clothes purchased for her when I was about twenty weeks prego  This little peach is in the 48th percentile in her height and the 25th percentile in her weight. So most of the clothes she's been able to fill out in length they usually swallow her and by the time she fills them out she's too long! I'm relieved that these little outfits will actually get to be worn!
First pair of jeans!
two.
We have a drs appointment today, I'm looking forward to seeing how much she's grown but nervous to find out what's going on.

three.

Tis The Season

Whew! I did it... actually we did it. It only took us a whopping twelve days. For the record it usually takes us about three. I'm so glad we did chose to do it a little earlier this year because I am exhausted from juggling a leaping baby, decorating, shopping and keeping up with the house. I need a break before things kick into way high gear. As I had mentioned, November is the month of Birthdays and is super crazy then its Thanksgiving and BAM Christmas! We usually put our Christmas stuff up the week of Thanksgiving. That way once Thanksgiving is over we are ready to enjoy the holiday rather than scrambling. Have you seen Four Christmas'? That's kinda what it's like for us here. It's hard for us to find time for ALL of our family. Jimmy only gets off Christmas day, so we usually have to spread it out throughout the month and it's difficult with him not ever having Saturday and Sunday off but we make it work. Did you know there's only 7 more shopping weekends until Christmas?! I'm so glad I got my shopping done, last weekend the stores were crazy. I can't imagine what they are going to be like two weeks from now. Our shopping is done for the most part, we still have gifts coming in the mail that will need to be wrapped and our Christmas lights still need to be done but the hustle and bustle is over for us. We are so excited to celebrate Addelyn's FIRST CHRISTMAS. So here's what we've been up to:
.
I'm obsessed with wrapping presents.

Merry Christmas!

Three Month Update!

3 months old. I.cannot.believe.it.

Five on Friday!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

Okay, so I started this 5 on friday thingamabob and I've got to commit to it for the pure sake of my sanity. I cannot start something and not finish it, so here it goes. Five things on my mind today. It's hard to choose just five. My brain has been going a million miles an hour and this weekend I have big intentions. Groceries, finish Christmas shopping, finish the decorations, wrap gifts, laundry, 3 month photos and 3 month blog update. Whew! So with all this hype I've devoted to Christmas I thought I'd tune in and focus on Thanksgiving.

    Thankfulness

one.
Addelyn. I'm so unconditionally thankful for this little miracle God has blessed us with. She truly is a piece of heaven, God has already taught me so much through this little one. My heart has grown so much as I've learned a new kind of love. Motherhood is one of the most precious gifts from God.

two.
Hubby. I don't want to over use the word blessed but it's so hard not to! Because I do feel incredibly blessed to have such an amazing man in my life who loves so wholeheartedly. Thanks be to God.

three.
My mother. I'm so happy to have had the time we did share together, growing spiritually. Bonding over bible studies made our connection so much deeper and significant.

four.
My in-laws. Every single one of them. After my mom's passing family took on a new meaning for me. God knew how much I would need a fun, loving, big family. My mother-in-law and I have such a close mother and daughter relationship and though she has not replaced my mother, our relationship has filled that empty gut-renching of a hole in my heart.

five.
Okay this may sound cliche but I am so thankful for our home. Home has never felt so much like home until Jimmy and I re-did our house. It's quite a cozy retreat and I'm humbled to be able to have such nice unique things that make our home special to us. Being a new mommy, you sure do spend a lot of your time at home!

andddd... A Birthday shout out to Nana!
Happy Birthday Nana!

Running on fumes

This week has been sheer utter chaos as I've dared to get ahead. Little A has decided to put the breaks on any productivity attempted. We are leaping over here.

A leap is a sudden change in mental development. The start of a leap goes together with a a sudden brain change that brings along new knowledge. The leap consists of two phases: The difficult period and the period of mastering new skills. The difficult period is indicated by the three c's. Crying, clinging and crankiness. The leap can cause the babies skills to regress or come to a stand still. The Period of mastering new skills is pretty self explanatory, mastering new skills or using skills in a different way. The baby shows interest in new things and becomes slightly more independent. So can you guess where we are?
Leap #3. WOOT

Skills she has learned from previous leaps on video!

Addelyn found her thumb!

holding/shaking rattle
So there you have it all the crying, clinging and crankiness does pay off! It just turns this house into total mayhem. I've cooked one meal this week, we've had take out every other night. I've got piles and piles of laundry and the house is a disaster. In the past 4 days I've showered twice and slept maybe 4 hours a night? The guest bedroom is a train wreck, harboring all of my unfinished/attempted projects.
You see November is the month of Birthdays. This weekend is my mother in laws birthday. The next weekend are the twin's birthday (BIL). The following weekend is Kevin' birthday (another BIL). The weekend after that is post Thanksgiving. And then it's December. And December is just crazy. I'll have you know that I am doing everything in my power to avoid the stores this Christmas season! Its challenging enough juggling this babe when running errands and I'm not about to fight parking, crowds, and lines.

So I will continue to persevere and try to get this family geared up for the holidays before it becomes impossible! Project: get ahead of the game is still a go.... I hope. Pictures to come!

Tomorrow Addelyn will be 3 months! HOLY COW! Stay tuned for pictures!

Five on Friday!

I have Christmas fever like nobody's business. I'm ready to skip thanksgiving and head right on into Christmas. So I'm joining in on the Five on Friday fun and thought I'd dedicate my 5 to Christmas!
one.
Call us crazy but Jimmy and I are playing with the idea of putting the tree up the weekend of November 8th. OKAY hold your thoughts before you go thinking we are crazy! Jimmy RARELY gets Saturday and Sunday off, maaaybe four times a year. And that weekend he does. Anyways, we aren't really sure how its going to work out... decorating a tree with a baby and all. Our tree takes about 12 hours with TWO people. So I'm thinking it might take three days with a baby, who knows? What I do know is I can't do it alone and  I for sure don't want to do it a few hours each evening for a... WEEK!
two.
The one thing preventing us from putting the tree up is... not that we would be crazy but that we would have to retire the swing until January because it's in tree territory and there is literally no where else to put it. Let me add that at 5 am the swing is the only spot Addelyn will go back to sleep and stay asleep for a good 3-4 hours. You see my hesitation?

three.
I've already created and submitted Addelyn's wish list to Santa. I'm having to fight the urge to start my Christmas shopping! The goal is to hold out until Novemeber 15th. Its so hard! Nana has already started her Christmas shopping for Little A. Can you spoil a 3 month old with too many toys? I don't think so! I am so smitten over the fact that Santa will be coming to our house now. For those of who don't know me. Christmas is my favorite. We go crazy over here around Christmas... if you couldn't tell by our tree ha! It was my most special time for my mother and I and I hope it becomes that way for Addelyn and I.
four.
Last year around Christmas was when we found out we were having a baby!
five.
Christmas Traditions. Can you have enough of them? Growing up in my house Santa wrapped presents in tissue paper and they looked exactly like they came from Santa's workshop. We had two trees a formal one and one for the kids. Unfortunately our house isn't big enough for two. A trip to the Trail of lights. A day dedicated to homemade Christmas cookies. On Christmas Eve we made huge ginger bread houses, read The Night Before Christmas, opened one present- which was always Christmas jammas and left homemade cookies for Santa. At Jimmy's house Santa filled the stocking with toiletries and your favorite candy. We take a crazy family photo and Jimmy's mom is the only sane one. I'm so stinking excited to start the elf on the shelf in a few years but I am itching for more traditions! Any ideas out there? What tradition made Christmas especially special for you?
I really don't know if I can handle the next month of anticipation. Christmas may just end up being a 2 month celebration this year for us. Call me crazy- I'm okay with it :-p

Happy Friday!
